Offer of free AT&T Cell Booster by going to: att.com/AcceptMyDevice NOT WORKING

Hello,

I have a microcell to boost my signal. As 3G is going away, AT&T says to go to att.com/AcceptMyDevice to accept a free AT&T Cell Booster as supplies last.  I've been trying to access the site for days from my phone and my laptop and it doesn't work.  Recently sent a message to AT&T requesting assistance.  Has anyone had the same issue or has anyone out there been able to access the site successfully?

That's great to hear, @bgrig1213! We're glad that you are able to find support here at AT&T Community Forums.

The troubleshooting steps recommended by @OttoPylot are great and have helped other customers who were, at first, unable to place an order for the new Cell Booster using the portal contained in the email sent to them.

Make sure to keep an eye out for the confirmation message by checking the other folders in your email, such as Junk or Spam. It is possible that it could have been directed to either file.

Let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

Worked fine.  The other response from OttoPylot was not very helpful. I thank you.

@1urnman  What wasn’t helpful about my response? This whole Cell Booster ordering/registering/activation has been a mess by AT&T. So we ask as many questions as we can in hopes of finding a solution.

I wouldn't be horrifically bothered. I'm thinking that they tried the tips to try and register by link sent by email or snail mail and were met with frustration. The whole load-reload loop or the rapid-fire click, open, close nonsense.

And not to mention inherent search for "cure" and landing on a conversational point rather than weed through all posts and advice on the topic that if followed through consecutively works... but fall on a tried shortcut and reply that said XYZ worked without background details that led up to the solution working.

But squeaky wheels in the presence of the right people manage to get the grease heaped on. I'm so glad ATTHelp is on the case and seems to be clean sweeping and segue entitled folks right in, immediately.

Though a mild finger shake is deserved in the direction of those that claim to have found a solution and don't share it.

I found mine and was on this forum a hot, split second later and gave the bare-all details. It was a self-help solution found after a week of tinkering with a "broken" web link.

Help a fellow AT&T subscriber and spill yer soul, man. 😝

Yes!  I tried a few weeks ago from the email they sent me.  Then I got a letter on Friday.  The website said I had used my 3 code opportunities!  I never got a code.   Called the number and the person I talked with said they were having issues.  They would send me an email and I could try again the next day (24 hours). Never got an email nor was I able to get on website 48 hours later.   I was beginning to think this was a scam.  I really need the booster but will not pay for another one!  Hoping At&T gets their issues fixed.

@vjosie  There are still lots of issues with the ordering system. I am compiling a list of common issues and will submit it to the Admins next week but I don’t expect much traction until 3G is laid to rest.

It's interesting, I have a small business account and had 3 active 3G microcells.

For the new ones I literally did nothing, I got an email saying "your new booster it's on it's way" something I wasn't even expecting..... I thought it was going to be an actual booster (which receives a real cell signal with a big antenna and rebroadcasts it inside with another antenna), which I already have and those don't really work well unless you sit on top of the transmitter (within a few feet) and they don't work at all in areas with no cell signal to boost...much to my surprise I got a box with not one but  3 new LTE FemToCells in it, one to replace each of my active 3g Microcells. While I have had beefs with AT&T in the past for a few things, this they got right.

@73blazer  Excellent! 3 is the maximum number for one account so it sounds like you’re covered.

Are you sure about that?

The femtocell mgt site says 3 "per location". In that web interface you can add locations and the new femtocells are listed under their respective locations. I have two locations with  2 at one, and one at another. The 2 at one is because there are two buildings at that address separated by about 200 yards.  I don't have a need for a 4th...but from the language on the management website it seems you have as many as oyu want but only 3 per address/location?

@73blazer  That’s something I need to look into because it’s not crystal clear. The last time I talked to them it was per account. Another item to add to my list to submit to AT&T.

@OttoPylot Another thing to ask your insiders:

If a private residence were to want to opt in on the Pro model, could they? I'm curious if they will allow a private residence to just get the single, more powerful unit and allow activation, minus the FirstNet activation?

You know, "One Box To Rule Them All" rather than buying up and installing multiple MCell boosters in a large footprint residence and possibly doing something neighborly for surrounding homes with lax cellular service.

Probably. But at $700 per unit that’s a hefty price to pay for more powerful radios that may interfere with other devices if not given enough “space”. Besides, there are updates coming to the CB down the road. Not more powerful radios but updates that will improve on what’s already available.
