Offer of free AT&T Cell Booster by going to: att.com/AcceptMyDevice NOT WORKING

Hello,

I have a microcell to boost my signal. As 3G is going away, AT&T says to go to att.com/AcceptMyDevice to accept a free AT&T Cell Booster as supplies last.  I've been trying to access the site for days from my phone and my laptop and it doesn't work.  Recently sent a message to AT&T requesting assistance.  Has anyone had the same issue or has anyone out there been able to access the site successfully?

I was on the phone for an hour & a half going from one person to the other & could not get any help. I have had my Micro Cell since 2013 & have had perfect service. We run our business out of our house. If they can't help may have to change service to Team Mobil. Have been with AT&T 20+ years but when you can't get help anymore may be time to move on. Plus I'm tired of everyone using Covid as an excuse for their customer service.

@suemilo01 The weblink, as you know, never worked correctly for most people. Those that were able to get thru quickly depleted the inventory of free Cell Boosters. It only took about 2 weeks or so for AT&T to run out. Demand far exceeded the supply, much to AT&T's surprise and poor planning. The remaining inventory is being built back up in anticipation of them going on sale in a couple of weeks.

@RTYoungren  The free Cell Booster program was discontinued about a month ago. Demand exceeded supply for those that were able to get thru. You can purchase them now online at AT&T.

does anyone know how to actually get a replacement booster for the defunct 3G?  I got snail mail saying to go to a site to request one, I did and it said they did not have them in stock- I have called ATT now 7-10 times with no luck getting transferred back and forth all around sales tech support etc... no one helps- I was told to set up and appt at a store and they would have the in stock and help- I did, we went to the store and they had none in stock and said I had to do this through att on the phone- frikin runaround and we have 0-1 bar of service at our house without the microcell- and wifi calling is very iffy - not a solution

@furban  You need to order them directly from AT&T's website. Inventory is still a bit thin due to lots of reasons, one being poor planning. As far as the free program goes, that ended about a month ago. From what I've seen the cost is less if you purchase online from AT&T and not in a Corporate or Reseller Store. Just make sure your phones meet the post-3G cellular requirements for AT&T. Support is spotty at best.

@OttoPylot thank you for the information- I will try to go to a store today to express my frustration- I have essentially zero cell service at my residence, hence the original need for a microcell- our internet (Xfinity) is also sporadic sometimes and we need to use the hotspot- I pay extra for that hotspot just for that reason.  if I can get someone to help out at the store and if ATT is now planning to charge me for a booster even though they were giving out replacements then that is a big bunch of crap.  Why would I pay extra for something that the company should be providing?  I am happy with my service other than while I am at my residence where I need good service while working at home etc- this has been extremely frustrating.

@furban  I wouldn't even bother with a store, be it a Corporate Store or especially if it is an Authorized AT&T Reseller Store. They know even less than Support and won't be able to help you.

We have Xfinity as well and the MicroCell (when we were using it) and the Cell Booster worked just fine. I'm done, for now, with my testing of the Cell Booster and have gone back to WiFi-C (WiFi Calling) which is just more reliable than the Cell Booster with excellent call quality. I'd setup WiFi-C if you can. It's really the preferred connection method for improving poor in-home coverage. Oh, and as far as Xfinity goes, I use my own modem and router which is much better than the gateways that Xfinity provides.

If you had a MicroCell before, and received the second email with the broken weblink, then I'd file a complaint with the BBB. Those go to Corporate and someone from the Office of the President will contact you and may be able to help. AT&T is very much aware of this broken weblink mess so they may be inclined to take care of you. It can't hurt.

@OttoPylot  thank you very much for your candid and honest reply - I will file a claim with BBB today as well and maybe that will help.  I will enable wifi-C on all our phones and hopefully that will help out.  Out of curiosity- what model modem do you use?  we have not been super impressed with the Xfinity option- I do have my own router I use.

Thanks again- what a mess

@furban  If WiFi-C works satisfactorily for you then you don't really need the Cell Booster unless you have other AT&T phones who aren't WiFi-C capable.

I use a Motorola DOCSIS 3.1 modem and the Netgear Orbi RBR750 Mesh WiFi system. Xfinity "approves" the Motorola modem as being compatible so it's just plug and play. No monthly "rental" fee either. WiFi coverage is excellent in our 2-story home and property.

First off, I have no idea if I am asking this question to the correct group.  I do have the newer microcell from AT&T, got it installed and it worked correctly for a few months.. got cour bars on both our cell phones.  Suddenly the power light is flashing, the internet light is solid gold I guess you'd call it, and the lower three lights are just not on.  I've turned it off and back on, reset it, and nothing chaanges.  Both of our cell phones now have one bar or no bars at all.  AT&T has nothing that I've found on their website that covers anything like this and I dread trying to get someone on the phone.  You could call me a novice in this area.  Any suggestions?

@jcrussell  Have you checked to see if you can still access your Cell Booster status page just to see what it says?

Does your router still see the Cell Booster based on its MAC address?

Who is you ISP and have you made any updates to your hardware recently?

Have you made any changes from its location when you originally set it up?

Is the ethernet cable still firmly in place as well as the GPS antenna?

Did you Reset it following the instructions in the Cell Booster Technical Guide (link is in my sig line)?

Can you do WiFi-C (WiFi Calling) as that is really the preferred method for improving poor in-home coverage?

Answer my questions and we'll take it from there.

Unfortunately, calling Support will probably be an exercise in futility.
