Switcher program is a scam
I switched 5 lines to ATT. I traded my phones in and received a credit for the phones that was applied to my Att bill. I still owed money for the phones and att said they would pay any early termination fees and the balance of the phones off. But they actually subtract what the credit they give you to pay your other wireless provider off. So basically I am stuck with a $1200 bill from T-Mobile to pay out of pocket. It is a scam especially if you have multiple phones. You are being giving a credit for a phone that you give to them then they take the credit back by making you apply it to your old bill. So you will end paying on your old bill, paying activation fees, taxes so they are scamming people. I plan on filling a compliant

@allliars
We’re more interested in your facts and figures,
List what you owed on each phone individually
How much each phone got for trade in (credit to your ATT Account)
How much was received for final bill credit.
Only smartphones were eligible. No payment for service or taxes. Nothing on damaged or user locked phones. Phone has to be the one on your bill.

Please don't post the whole chats.
Just the figures related to the offer http://att.com/switch

This is absolutely a scam. I read all the fine print and I am still waiting for my rebate and my 432.00 that I still have not received, it has been over three months and too numerous phone calls to mention. It seems the right hand hasn’t a clue what the left hand is doing, no one has helped to remedy this problem for me as I did everything right. Whom ever reads this, do not fall for this scam. When something sounds too good to be true, it more than likely is!

“for my rebate and my 432.00 that I still have not received,...”. What’s this “and” in there?
If you read the fine print you know it’s only going to reimburse what you owe in exchange for your phone. If you owe $432 on a phone, subtract your trade in credit, the remainder is all that’s due.
Since ATT does not handle final reimbursement, the left hand indeed, has no clue.

Whoever reads this, read the offer twice! And keep a copy.
And if you want to talk about it in the forums, please give ALL your details, not a small fraction. It's hard to make head or tails of just a li.
People who post ALL the information are more likely to get it resolved than those who post just a partial. Partial information makes me think they only did a partial amount of the required steps.

erikagr, I too am dissappointed. My lady and I made the switch in April and bundled DTV and Internet with switched phones that were not fully paid off. The in-home specialist led us to believe a few things that have simply not been supported by ATT. For example, he told us in no uncertain terms that our switch expenses would be reimbursed as soon as we uploaded a copy of our previous carrier's final bill showing the expenses incurred for the phones that we turned into the in-home specialist and the termination fees (up to $650.00 per line x 2 lines). I uploaded the bill as instructed and subsequesntly received a note, "your submission did not include a bill from your previous carrier showing an EFT or EIP. So, I uploaded it again. Then we got another notice (the same). So, we called in again and talked to the switch specialists who were very frankly just rude. They quickly pointed out all the terms adn conditions of the contract and told me I had not complied. I had. Then they told mne there was a problem with their computer program. So, I tried again. Then I called again. At that time, they told me we were in the system for reimbursement cards receipt withing 4-6 weeks. That was a couple weeks ago. So, today we received a post card with the same message. I can no longer even get to the two links that I would update. Feels like I'm out of the $900 plus I've paid my previous provider, and my current provider has written me off as an idioy who can't follow the rules. What's the remedy???

What's the remedy???

I am so sorry that you also fell for this scam. I have contacted the New York State Attorney General’s office and they are well aware of this scam as wellness with a lot of reports they have received. I would suggest to contact your state Attorney’s office if not New York as well to spread this awful scam. So many people fell prey to this as we did. I wish you luck and hope you can get this resolved. I only received back a gift card of a total of 218.00 for a $900.00 phone, just ridiculous! Spread the word as I did!
