SAML 2.0 authentication failed

I have both yahoo.com and att.com email addresses, both of which I access through my Yahoo! Mail. I had to change my password for the att.net mail today, and now every time I try to go that account using my laptop, I get this:

SAML 2.0 authentication failed

Error details
FBTSML215E The name identifier policy in the authentication request could not be met by this identity provider.

Stack trace

I can access the account on my phone.  How do I fix this issue on my laptop?

Out of the blue, can not log in to Yahoo for @att.net email.  get this error.  On computer and phone.  What happened?  Cleared cookies, etc.  Tried using different browsers, no luck.  Using Outlook to add email just brings up Yahoo and again error.

I cannot log in to My Yahoo this morning. I get

SAML 2.0 authentication failed

Error details
FBTSML215E The name identifier policy in the authentication request could not be met by this identity provider.

I saw an earlier post about people having this trouble with their e-mail, but the answer does not apply to this problem.

1. I'm not trying to access my AT&T e-mail; I'm wanting to look at my Yahoo page, which has current quotes for the stocks I own and/or am interested in. Loading the e-mail app to a mobile device is irrelevant (and is a workaround; it does not fix the problem.

2. The second solution proposes using the My Yahoo log-in page...which is where I *start* getting this problem.

3. One person on the thread noted they have the problem in Chrome, but not in Firefox. I have the problem in Firefox, not in Chrome.  A third person notes the problem started in one browser, but after a few days appeared in every browser.

Other Information:
I cleared all ATT & Yahoo cookies.
I cleared all saved login data
I have rebooted Windows.

I reset my password.

So. Anybody got any idea what's going on here?

So what is ATTT doing to help resolve this? Is ATT working with Yahoo or are you just saying tough luck to all your customers?

All of the sudden I can not sign into my sbcglobal.net account on my laptop (working on my phone)?  I have tried resetting the password but it comes up with an error message that says:    SAML 2.0 authentication failed.   The name identifier policy in the authentication request could not be met by this identity provider?  Can anyone help me with this issue.  thank you!

So, I'm a new entrant to this convo. I had the same problem with Chrome. Tried logging in with Explorer and it worked. So, what do I do now? Do I have to stop using Chrome? I am  totally inept when it comes to understanding Internet jargon btw. Thanks. Bob

Been signed in for a couple of weeks. Then it asked me to re-sign in. Didn't like my password. Tried to reset password to a new one. It didn't like the new one. Got "SAML 2.0 authentication failure". Tried another browser. Asked me to sign up for an ATT.net account and merge that with my Sbcglobal. Getting messy and lost in a series of SAML errors. Got locked out for trying to often. Help!

Is there a link to an "online interactive help"? May need someone to unlock. Thanks.

Hi @Aitchmark,

We will be delighted to assist you!

If you’re currently using Internet Explorer and or a Microsoft Edge browser older than 15.x you will need to upgrade your browser to a supported browser. If you’re using FireFox, Chrome, and/or a Mac based browser, just sit back, and relax. Check out our Upgrading Your Browser article for more information. Check out this website for more tips in troubleshooting. Also, try loging in at att.com.

If you have any additional concerns, please feel free to reach out to us. Thank you for being an AT&T customer.

Hello @Aitchmark,

Thanks for providing all that information as well as all the troubleshooting steps you've taken. In regards to the email app, as you mentioned please login to your phone as a workaround.
AT&T is currently aware of this issue and our technicians are working to fix it. There is currently no ETA on when this issue will be resolved.
