Hi @Nikki6

Thank you for reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums!

I am sorry to hear that you are having an issue with your phones functionality. The good part about the iPhone is sometimes a little maintenance can help speed up the OS. Here's a few tips that work for me.

Go to Settings – Safari. Tap both CLEAR HISTORY & CLEAR COOKIES AND DATA. By clearing history, it will close all current browsing pages that you have open. Please save any unfinished work or bookmark pages that you do not want to lose before you click clear history.

Sometimes closing certain apps help to clear up system resources. To close running, suspended, or background apps, DOUBLE TAP the HOME button. This will pull up a list of running apps. Press and hold down one of the app icons for two (2) seconds. The apps will start to wiggle and have a red minus sign on the left corner. Press the minus sign to shut down the app.

Another tip is to do a hard restart on the iPhone. Do this by holding down the top lock button and home screen button until the phone turns off and the starting Apple appears on the screen.

You can also go Tap Settings – General – Reset – Reset Network Settings. The phone will reboot and then you can see if that improves performance.

Good Luck! Thank you for your business.

Straight talk?  This is ATT.  If you're not using ATT you are prioritized below ATT customers.

the tier is like this.

1.   ATT post paid customers

2.   ATT prepaid customers

3.   Everybody else.....Cricket, straight talk, etc....

@Nikki6.  Yeah, you need to ask people around you what carrier they use, and how good it is.

Hi @Nikki6

We’re sorry to hear this has caused you so many troubles. This is not the experience we want any of our customers to have with any of our devices or our services. We value you as a customer and do not want to see you go.

Regarding the dropped calls, if you have a compatible iPhone model (iPhone 6 or later), you can use AT&T Wi-Fi Calling if your location has a local Wi-Fi connection. AT&T Wi-Fi calling allows your calls and texts to piggyback off of your Wi-Fi connection and can work in areas of little to no coverage and even during network outages. This is an amazing feature that helps mitigate dropped calls and poor service.

You also mentioned that you’re having network connectivity issues and problems with your phone being slow. Have you recently completed a software update on your device? There are instances where having a recently completed a software update can bring about certain software and connection issues.

The reason this happens is because the update is installed on top of your current operating system. This ensures that you do not lose any data (it’s gotten to the point where sometimes the phone’s contents are worth more than the actual phone, and we know how important this is to you) but it can sometimes lead to these unexpected bugs.

To help minimize these bugs we recommend completing a factory reset. Step-by-step instructions are available from our Device Support page. This will delete all your personal information on the device, so we recommend completing a backup either through iCloud or iTunes before completing the factory reset.

If the issue persists, we’ll be more than happy to perform additional troubleshooting with you. Please send us a private message by clicking here and include your full name and a good contact number where we can reach you.

We look forward to working with you to resolve your issue!

Wifi assist doesn't do anything for calls.  It uses cellular data to augment port wifi.

Support suggests you consider an IPhone 6 or newer which is capable of wifi call and text.

Since you problem is indoors, either that, or a microcell would fix your problem.
