A Microcell provides a cellular connection in your home through an active Microcell device connected to broadband Internet. When you leave your home, you’ll leave the Microcell coverage. The device will only work for coverage in the home where you are currently limited. Once you are traveling outside of the home, you will then of course connect to the network along your route of travel.
We can recommend Wi-Fi Calling if you have an iPhone 6 or higher or a Microcell device. To learn more, you can click on the article Choose between Wi-Fi Calling and MicroCell through the AT&T website.
If you have any further questions, we’re here to help!

If you're using your phone on a wifi network, it could also be a DNS issue. I have seen that multiple times, and I have manually set my iPhone to use custom DNS servers for most wifi networks I connect to. This improves my phone's performance quite a bit over using the network's default, which is often using a service in the router that re-directs out to internet based DNS servers.

@Nikki6 You never did clarify what type of iPhone you're using now. If iPhone 6 above, can follow advice other people said, if lower version???
