Switcher program issues!

We switched from Verizon to AT&T in February. After waiting and waiting for our rebate we got a letter saying we failed to turn in our old phones so we don't qualify. We have the paper work that shows we did. We went down to the local AT&T store and talked with someone. They copied our paperwork and promised to call us back by today. Well, guess what, no phone call. Try calling the store and it goes straight to voicemail. Try calling the rebate phone number and you get a message saying " we are experiencing a higher than normal call volumn" and they hang up! I'm so mad! I'm ready to drop them and I don't care what it costs! I'll post it where ever I can! AT&T scams people!!!

We switched and December from Verizon to AT&T.they promised to pay our $1500 verizon bill but started tellling us we didnt send in the final bill which we had done several times.then they started saying we were missing pages, after finally resolving the bill issue they turned around and told us the phones we sent in never made it to AT&T even though they gave us a shipping label to send it to their company. Now we are going on four and a half months and still are waiting for them to pay our Verizon bill! We finally had to pay the bill on our own because of credit issues! since they are saying we never mailed in our phones we are considering mailing in our new phones from AT&T to get credit for our own old phones just so we can have them pay the Verizon bill off

The same thing happened to me, I'm still dealing with this mess [Per Guidelines:  Keep it Relevant and Appropriate].

@Tim91311 It's a good thing you finally paid Verizon because ATT was never going to pay them. The way the switcher program works is they reimburse you for termination fees or device payoffs, they do not pay your old carrier. Please do not mail in your new phones, that won't turn out well. Even if that got you your switcher credit (which it won't), you still have to payoff the new phones.

@Tim91311   Did you save the tracking for the phones you mailed in?  Did you get a counter receipt at the PO?   Use these to help locate the phones.  If they track, then ATT can be forced to honor the deal.

You've got $1500 riding on this and you never read the offer???

They only pay what it costs to cancel, not the whole bill. How many phones did you trade in?

You have the receipt from dropping off at the post office?

That would be fraud and they'd probably notice they are AT&T phones and then NOT reimburse you...

They are paying you for the Verizon phones that you are turning in.

4 months after switching I still have not received a dime of the promised credit--for either the 4 phones I traded in or for the reimbursement on my last Sprint. AT&T is really good at telling me I haven't met the requirements for the switching reimbursement, even though, after hours on the phone with "customer service" I have been able to confirm that I have met the requirements complete with tracking and case numbers for everything. In addition, we're receiving constant warnings that we've exceeded our data limit. That never happened with Sprint. I completely regret switching at all and would warn people considering switching that even if you follow instructions exactly, it could be months before you receive credit--if you receive it at all.

@pkazmercyk   None of it?   You would have received a trade in credit on all 4 phones as long as they were in good condition and the same ones on your bill.

Did you mail your old phones?

Did you get trade in credits either as gift cards or credit on your bill?

I haven’t received any credits. I mailed the old phones with the label supplied by AT&T and I have confirmed that they were received (have tracking numbers). I have submitted my last Sprint bill 3 times only to have it rejected. When contacting AT&T on this via phone, however, I have been told that the submission was valid and it would only be a matter of time before I would receive my credit.

At least a month after my last conversation with AT&T, I received this email today:

Hello PAUL,
