Is the AT&T Visa Reward Card a SCAM?

Is the AT&T Visa Reward Card a SCAM? I initiated a Directv, AT&T internet, and AT&T telephone bundle with the guarantee of a $150 AT&T Visa reward card. I did not receive the reward card as guaranteed. I contacted the Customer Care Reward Center and was informed I would not be receiving the reward card because the 120 day threshold had expired. When I initiated the aforementioned service, I was not informed of a 120 day threshold. I received monthly bills from AT&T, but I did not receive any correspondence related to the AT&T Visa reward card. Therefore, I would like to know if the guarantee of an AT&T Visa Reward Card a SCAM? Did AT&T have any intention of honoring the guarantee?

It sure did happen that very same way to me. But then when I did get through to someone they told me I had waited to long and there was nothing they could do. It seems so weird that would allow us to communicate with each other telling about our ordeals and still not do anything for us.

This happened to me too. It's shameful and dishonest. Below is a breakdown of events. I will be cancelling my service if it's not resolved soon. 


1) I ordered a BOGO Apple Xr online for $300 gift card in June.
2) waited for reward claim, it never came
3) Went to store who tried to help, but couldn't and told me to call #ATTRewards
4) I called lots. Held for 30-60 min every time, never got connected
5) called retention, and it took over 2hrs but finally got me to Rewards
6) Rewards said they NEVER SENT ME THE REWARD CLAIM LETTER
6) then they DENIED THE REWARD due to the secret 120-day time limit on calling 😂🤣
7) Retention made me beg for it, but they finally gave me a $100 credit on my bill...but I'm still really frustrated.

We had the same thing happen to us, September of 2019.  They were running a special that if you upgraded to the S10 model or Note 10 model there would be a gift card for $300.00 per phone upgraded.  We spoke with a representative prior to upgrading 4 phones to make sure..  I wanted to get all the facts and fine print before I did anything, I had DirecTV for years and cancelled finally after so many of these promises and then not coming through.  So I was doing my homework first.  I talked to someone and they confirmed it was the upgrade offer of $300.00 visa gift card per line.  There was also a BOGO offer on the Note 10 plus a $300.00 gift card if you added a new line.  We went with the upgrade since we already have 5 lines.  2 weeks after we upgraded I called the rewards center, and they looked into my account and said that I couldn't claim the reward for 30 days.  The costumer has to keep the phone for 30 days to get the rewards so they cant return them and keep the gift card.  Makes sense, so I let it be, because come October 2 I will have my rewards code or card - not sure which.  Then comes November 1 and I still have not heard anything, I call and talk to 4 different people of 3 different days - all of them telling me that I was speaking with the wrong department.  The last one transferred me and said talk to someone on the chat.  They did their "research" and I got a wonderful voicemail that that promo never existed.  I was never promised this by 2 different people.. [Edited to comply with Guidelines]  People call the BBB (Better Business Bureau)  AT&T - DirecTV get away with this crap all the time.

I have called at least 4 time to inform ATT I have not received by rewards. Each time I call, it takes at least 1 hour to speak to someone. I was told I'd receive my $300 reward 30 days after install. 1 card for $100, 1 card for $200 and that they don't come at the same time. I received a $100 card and waited for the $200. The $200 card never came. I checked the web and the web said I claimed the $200 card which is not correct. I spoke to someone and he said I'd be receiving 2 cards, 1 for $100 and the other for $200. I confirmed and informed him I had already received a $100 card and he confirmed that I'll still receive 2 gift cards. Well another $100 card came, again no $200. I'm so dissatisfied because I hate for a company to offer something, you expect it and it never comes, comes in pieces, or doesn't come at all. Bad business.

AT&T rewards IS a scam, they don't give the rewards card and whey you call they say they can't do anything about it due to 120 day threshold. Each time you call they put you on hold for 30 minutes minimum. Worst customer service ever.

I filled an FTC complaint against ATT for a rep lying to me about a visa rewards card and credits to my account.  I got great resolution from the office of the President.  File with the FTC and you will get resolved!  I hope this helps all of you.  ATT is scandalous but when you bring it up to the government, ATT listens.

YESSSSSSS it’s a complete scam and after 3 months of waiting this (Edited per community guidelines)s send me a $50 gift card I said WRONG... and said it was $200 so I get one today ok it’s for the $200 one yipeeee!
