upset with Asurion and ATT insurance

I spend a premium amount over other carriers, and have been using ATT for about 20 years.
I am disgusted with the insurance. I have 4 iphones and 3 ipads, and pay insurance every month.
My last iphone broke and they sent me an iphone 6S (remanufactured?). The 6S speaker has gone, i can't see the screen in the day, and now i can't hardly hear the other person.I never abused or dropped the phone, and have a protective case. I went to submit a claim and at the submit got a NASTY pop up saying this is my second claim in 12 months, and if I hit submit, they will cancel insurance, I wont be available for insurance for another 12 months, and the family insurance will also be canceled.
This is false advertising when i signed up, is bullying, and is nasty since they sent me a crappy replacement phone.
I need to make other decisions. I am not paying a premium to be pushed like this.

Hello @rwandamark,

I am sorry to hear you received the message from Asurion when trying to replace the phone. We do not want any of our customers to feel like we don’t appreciate them and I am sure Asurion does as well.

I would love the chance to see if I can get your phone working again.  Please press and hold both the Power and the Home keys at the same time for around 30 seconds or until you see the Apple logo.  Doing this usually clears up any software glitches which could be causing the issues as well as wake up the hardware as well.

I would also recommend visiting our Troubleshoot and Resolve Tool, as it is like having a tech support agent available at any time.  Once there, please select your phone’s make and model, then go to Device/Software Issues > Audio for the audio issues, Screen for the other.

Please let me know if these steps help!

Why?

That's $63 a month ($750 a year!). Stick it in the bank and use it to repair / replace devices when they break (or are stolen) and avoid the deductibles. Didn't it just go up 12% or is that next month?

I went to submit a claim and at the submit got a NASTY pop up saying this is my second claim in 12 months, and if I hit submit, they will cancel insurance, I wont be available for insurance for another 12 months, and the family insurance will also be canceled.

I'm going to guess this is exactly what the policy says. (I'm back to "Why?")

Just to clear it up:

ATT does not provide insurance.  Asurion is the insurance provider, and they provide insurance through all carriers.   If your annoyed with Asurion, cancel.

@Gary L Suggested you bank the money you would have spent on premiums.  I agree.

In 20+ years and all my phones I figured I saved over $5,000 and in all that time only had 3 lost or broken phones.

You said it succinctly Gary, "why".
Now canceling the insurance coupled with another carrier who is $100 less per month, that will be close to $2K saved per year, or 2 unlocked top notch iphones per year. And I just remembered with my Amex, they extend the warranty, even including if lost/stolen for 90 days...I think things are looking brighter. BYE BYE ATT

If the phone is an insurance replacement and has ZERO physical damage...get a warranty replacement.

All insurance replacement devices have a 1 year warranty.

David, thank you. I didn't know that. yes it is less than one year old, and there is no physical/water damage. BUT when I filed the claim( i didn't finish after the nasty message about canceling my insurance) i didn't see a warranty claim.
Thx

Lol.  The only carrier that is that cheap is Sprint.  Enjoy the lack of coverage and dropped calls.

Be realistic, it's $1200 a year. You could have saved that $750 a year at any time by canceling Asurion (who is the same insurance for all the major carriers).

So back to my question: WHY?

For some reason you've been paying a $100 a month premium for AT&T and obviously you think that's been getting you something. What is that something? Why haven't you switched to another carrier?

I know I could do CHEAPER somewhere else, but I love the coverage AT&T provides me in the nooks and crannies of Michigan that I frequent: when multiple strangers see I have coverage and ask me who I have multiple times while camping or hiking or traveling, I figure I've made a good choice for where I am...

Don't file the claim. Warranty is through technical support not Asurion.

Call 611 and they'll get you a replacement through warranty. Zero cost for this.
