4K and 1080p resolution

I have a 4K tv and your service. The resolution only goes to 1080i resolution. Do you have the ability to broadcast cable shows in 1080p? And if not when will you be able to? And thirdly, when will you broadcast television in 4K quality? Give me the time frame that I will have to wait for.

1) You have overpaid for your TV.

2) There is very little 4K content for U-verse to provide to you at this time.

3) There is no broadcast content in 1080p.  While movies could be sent in 1080p, the benefit in doing so is not felt to outweigh the extra data traffic.

4) AT&T makes almost nothing in the way of announcements of future features like this.  You'll know when they announce current availability.

5) Before you jump ship from AT&T on these issues, check carefully the service you're jumping to.  You'll find there's little real difference.  For example, DIRECTV does 4K to certain TV models that they approve and only one or two movies at a time.

4K will be in the far off future and may go the way of the Beta Max or 8 tracks.  Time will tell.

There are no providers that offer 1080p because there are no broadcasters that broadcast in 1080p.  The only 1080p programming is limited On Demand movies on DirectTV (or maybe Dish).  And of course, there's always the Blu-Ray option.

I sure hope the TV was a gift or prize.  Read more here:

Why buying a 4K TV right now is a waste of money.

Or even 3D TV.

Sorry, I should have said "3D TV" for clarity.

The red/green glasses 3D TVs that I stated from the beginning is just a big joke that would not last. Smiley LOL
