Why do I hear a stuttered dial tone on my phone when I pick it up to make a call?
Every time I pick up my phone the dial tone sounds like a stutter for a few seconds then returns to normal. Why does it do that?

Meh_67 Did you ever get rid of the stuttered dial tone? We are having the same problem. We used to have AT&T call notes. When we switched to Cox, we can no longer get in to our call notes to clear it, so now don't know how to get rid of the stuttering dial tone.
