Yahoo login for prodigy.net email redirects to signin.att.com, prodigy.net credentials don't work + "Not Found on Accelerator" error

As recently as December of 2021 I have been able to access my prodigy email account through login.yahoo.com. Tonight I tried signing in to set up a vacation message, but login.yahoo.com automatically redirected to signin.att.com. I tried my prodigy credentials on that page but get an error (screen grab below).

I have an AT&T account, so I tried signing in with that, but that leads to the following URL:

https://edit.client.yahoo.com/sbc/register?.scrumb=.fZmhSQDP5J&.done=https%3A%2F%2Fcurrently.att.yahoo.com%2F

With this error text:

Not Found on Accelerator

Description: Your request on the specified host was not found. Check the location and try again.

I saw a number of posts regarding the above error message but none of the solutions worked for me.

My email and password are working fine in Mac Mail.

Has anyone else solved a similar problem with a legacy email address?

Thanks,

Joe

Hi, jgm104.

We suggest that you reset your password, because this will help with the not found on accelerator error that you are receiving.

Also, we recommend that you clear your cache and cookies on your browser as there may be something that is affecting the page to load properly.

Here are some questions that will also clarify more information:

  • Have you tried any other browsers? There may be an issue with the current browser you are using?
  • Does this only happen on only one computer or multiple? Please try using another device to see if this issue persists, so we know how to continue.

Let us know more information, so we can better assist you.

Hi Marc,

Thank you for your reply. I am able to send and receive email through Mac Mail, so I do not need to reset my password. My challenge is I'm unable to sign into my account using a web browser, to set up a vacation message.

I have a saved link that I always use to sign in, which goes to login.yahoo.com

I now recall, that link has been autoforwarding to signin.att.com for at least the past year. And that has worked, I've been able to sign in at signin.att.com and  access my email account. However, as of last night, that functionality no longer works.

Below is the sequence of screens I am seeing. The first is the login.yahoo.com screen. When I enter my email address and hit continue, then it autoforwards to signin.att.com where my email address and password are not accepted.

I want to again emphasize, this is not a password issue. I am able to send and receive messages fine for my prodigy email account on Mac Mail where I have the proper SMTP and IMAP settings and my current password works fine with those settings. I am just unable to access my account through a web browser since none of the links are working/are autoforwarding.

Thank you,

Joe

Auto forwards to this screen:

Which then gives this error when I try signing in to my email account:

Hi Marc,

That worked! You were right, the password change fixed it. I didn't have to clear cache or anything, just required that one step.

Thank you.
