Inbox issue on iPhone

Hello. I have a BellSouth mail account. IMAP. All of the folders sync 100% (Sent items, Deleted items, etc.),

but sometimes (not every time) an email will show up in my BellSouth account Inbox on my PC and Webmail, but not on my iPhone's

Inbox.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi @HalMemphis,

 

You will want to make sure the email is in your webmail and not being deleted by your PC or other device. If it's in there, on your iPhone, drag down to have  it check for mail. It should tell you "Updated Just Now." If the mail comes through, it's because the iPhone hasn't checked for your mail yet. You can change the settings on your Password & Accounts section on how often you want it to Fetch New Data.

How often did you set to Fetch New Data? You indicated it happens sometimes - how often does it happen?

Thanks, Kenneth. There is really no pattern to when it happens. Currently Fetch is on Automatically. Also, though I understand they each have their own operating system, the Inbox on my iPad syncs fine.

Send a test email to att-test@att.com from both your iPhone and IPad, then check for the automatic reply from AT&T confirming your email is set up and working properly.

also, @HalMemphis with iOS 11 and later, and iPadOS, Automatically is set by default.

Your device will fetch new data in the background only when your device is charging and connected to Wi-Fi.
