AT&T Box in Yard and a bush that surrounds it
When I moved into my house 13 years ago, there was already a bush planted at the box in my yard. It was planted by a neighbor, as it's near/on the property line. At this point, it is very overgrown and I'm trying to figure out how best to handle it's removal and what I do instead.
I have 2 questions that will help me proceed:
- Are there are guidelines on what can be done at or around the boxes. I imagine that this as it currently exists impedes service to the box.
- I have always had internet issues. Mostly intermittent interruptions. Is it possible that the roots of this bush are interfering with the cables in the ground and contributing to the issue?

Schedule a tech visit for your internet interruptions. Ask the tech about the bush removal. They may not know. Contact your local public works department about the bush as well.

We understand your concern about the bushes surrounding the utility boxes, PLKelly.
Whether or not we can remove or trim the bushes depends on whether or not there is an easement on the property. When it comes to your intermittent Internet connection, it's unlikely that the bushes are the cause.
We'd be happy to provide you with some troubleshooting options and setup suggestions that can improve your connection. We have a guide here in the Forums that offers suggestions on how to improve your modem's environment to get the best possible connection, and a guide on our website that covers the many ways you can optimize your Internet connection.
Let us know if you need further assistance or have any other questions!

Aminah, Thank you for the response. I’m not looking for AT&T to remove, I’ll take care of that with the neighbor. I was just wondering if there were any ‘rules’ about what can/should be done around those boxes as to not impede service techs from doing their job. That will help me in addressing with the neighbor, as well as figuring out what we can do if/when removed.
