No grids in the calendar is the new Samsung design. But then, I use the BlackBerry calendar app (part of the Hub+ Suite), and it still has the grid, so I'm not missing it.
Can't tell you much about the themes. Every one I tried had issues even before the update. Besides, the night mode Samsung added in Pie made looking for a theme to do that (the only kind I wanted anyway), redundant.
From what I've read in some of the other forums, look for newly updated themes. But, I can't vouch for any.

How do I turn "themes" off my phone? Update just completely messed my phone up and I can't see the calendar. I hate when my phone updates without my permission!!
