RE: ATT Billing Dispute
Hello,
I am tired of getting collection notices from collection agencies on behalf of ATT and requesting them to validate it.
Every time one collection agency closes the account ATT shuffles it to another and validation starts anew.
I have finally had enough and filed complaint with BBB specifically requesting ATT to :
1. PROVIDE ME WITH THOROUGH BREAKDOWN OF ALL CHARGES
2. PROVIDE ME WITH COMPETENT EVIDENCE THAT I HAVE A LEGAL OBLIGATION TO PAY YOU THE AMOUNT CLAIMED.
TO THAT END ASKED TO PROVIDE ME WITH WRITTEN VALIDATION OF THIS DEBT WHICH SHALL INCLUDE, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:
A. COPIES OF ANY WRITTEN INSTRUMENTS WHICH EVIDENCE THAT I INCURRED THE DEBT.THESE SHOULD CLEARLY SHOW MY SIGNATURE AND SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER.
B. A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL AGREEMENT SIGNED BY ME WHICH STIPULATES THE WAY IN WHICH THIS DEBT WAS TO BE PAID, INCLUDING HOW THE INTEREST RATE WOULD BE CALCULATED.
C. THE DATE THIS ALLEGED DEBT WAS INCURRED.
I was contacted by Robin S[edited for privacy – please do not post personal information] of the Office of President at ATT.
Her email address is [edited for privacy – please do not post personal information]
She blatantly advised me that she will not furnish me with any evidence requested, she only offered to forward me the same copy of bill I already have from collection agency, and she said "I will write to BBB that we furnished you with what you request and you weren't satisfied with it".
But I have never received what I requested.
All my attempts to find answer from Customer Service Reps end with CSR either admitting their inability to help (because, they claim, account is "charged off", is with collections and outside of the scope of active account services), or else they take my contact number and I never hear from them again.
This is ridiculous! ATT wants me to pay them a debt they allege I owe but they will not provide with any signed instrument or evidence that I indeed owe them anything!
I need help with this issue ASAP!

I have an LG 4 that needed a new battery and ATT device insurance. I asked for a new battery, but ATT no longer carries the device and offered a new one. Because my deductible is $112 and a new battery is 14.99 I declined the new replacement. ATT sent one anyway. I returned the device as corrected but was billed the deductible and subsequently another $112. I have called many times and received promises of corrections and account credits, but the charges keep appearing. I have been disconnected, charged late fees, and charged to have service restored. I can not get the matter resolved. Tonight I was put on hold until the call center closed. Please correct this.

At&t does not keep sending your debt to different agencies, they send it to 1 and when that collector gives up or gets tired of not getting anywhere they not AT&T sell it off to another collector,i have a credit card that has been haunting me since 1990 and every time i apply for something the calls and letters start up again, its not on my credit anymore but they still try, Oh yeah this original 75 dollar debt has now turned into 2700.00 LOL!!! it goes up every time it changes hands
