Transfer number from Google Fi to AT&T

I'm switching from Google Fi back to AT&T. Google makes it easy to find the transfer information, including the account number and pin. However, AT&T expects the account number to be at least 9 digits, and the Google Fi account number is 5. Since it is too short I cannot proceed.

Any suggestions?

Hi @Drewsmits!

I definitely apologize that you’re having issues with the porting in process from Google Fi to AT&T! I can help you out with that!

Find out what you need to transfer a number from another carrier to AT&T wireless or GoPhone. Learn how long the transfer takes and how to check the status by visiting the Transfer a number from another carrier article through the AT&T website.

From the Transfer Your Number to AT&T page, enter the phone number you want to transfer and follow the prompts to check eligibility. If the number is eligible to transfer, you can shop online or visit an AT&T Corporate store to complete your number transfer and activate new AT&T service.

As a last resort, you can check in with our AT&T Porting Activation team if needed at 888-898-7685.

Have a terrific rest of your day!

@vititt47

I am having the same issue you had regarding Google Fi 5 digit account #.

Were you able to resolve the issue?

Would appreciate if you have any suggestions.

Thanks.

 can find your account number and pin code by starting the “Cancel Service” process within the Google Fi app.  Towards the end of that process, a screen will appear with your Google Fi account number and pin code.

I already had the the Google account number and pin.

It was being rejected during the port request with an error message about there needs to be 9 digits or more in the accountb number instead of 5, which the Fi app gives you. Thanks though.

Google support was absolutely useless, just like their service.

The system ended up accepting the 5 digit account number on the webpage after i tried various versions with 0s etc.

@Apsodi

Your post is the closest to coming to a solution to this problem which has been posted many times on the AT&T and other carriers forums. Why on Earth the First Response 6 years ago didn't elicit a common sense answer here on the Forum blows my mind (not really....att doesn't really read before responding with scripted replies)

Adding extra 0s before the Fi account number woukd make sense.   Is that what worked for you?
