Gear Iconx not working

this is my second pair of gear icon x earbuds in 4 months.  when I use them, they will work for about 1/2 hour then start to "boing" in my ear.  everytime they do, they then shut off.  then this happens every 2min or so.  I cant' seem to find out why and i'm about ready to send these back.  I don't know what I am doing wrong.
