Depending on the (Uverse) remote you have, the red "C" button will turn Closed Caption on/off. I don't believe the S20 remote has a red C button.

Hmm, if it says "off" it should turn it off. The button should act as a toggle. Reboot the box. May not work but it's trivial to give it a try.
@skeeterintexasThe S20 does have a C button albeit in a different location on the remote.

Agree with @_xyzzy_
If says 'off' about the only thing you can do is reboot either the STB OR maybe the RG if it's a problem on other TVs. Is it a problem on another TV or just the one?
