Cancelling My Game of Thrones Party
Internet and uverse went out yesterday and I had to schedule a service call between 4 and 8 pm. It was worth giving my Braves/Brewers tickets away to schedule it.
Got a call from the tech at 745 pm, telling me there are no openings left for tomorrow (they are servicing those who scheduled after me).
Now I have to take time off on Monday for the call (provided they show up). Telling my friends why the gathering is cancelled, and hopefully we'll be able to move it.

Call retentions on Monday during regular business hours and they should be able to adjust your bill for the missed appointment.

As a sidenote, if they offer $X off for a set time ($30 off per month for a year), use a calendar or Post-It Note to remind yourself to call back. AT&T will not remind you until your bill jumps up...and this is a most unwelcome surprise.
You're certainly welcome to ask for a one-time credit and a retention offer. They've done all sorts of magical things to my bill over the past many years.
