ATT can easily make a Windows 10 Universal App that can work on Windows 10 devices including desktops, laptops, tablets of all sizes. They can easily port an existing iOS app to Windows UWP.  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uwp/porting/

Please consider this ATT U-verse to accommodate your Windows 10 users.

I'm not sure if this will help any of you understand the situation, or if this has been mentioned before, BUT, I was approached by a DirectTV  rep a week or so ago and we discussed the current AT&T Uverse situation.  Apparently, Uverse is going to cease to exist altogether.  They (AT&T) are going to offer some "special incentive" to Uverse subscribers to motivate them to sign up with DirectTV.  He also mentioned that the deletion of the online guide/DVR/streaming service was one of their "steps" to motivate current AT&T subscribers to move to DirectTV sooner rather than later.  I explained to the DirectTV rep that Uverse already had issues that I did no appreciate and that the deletion of the online guide/DVR/streaming service was the last straw for me.  I will not be manipulated by corporate AT&T to shift to an even more inferior product.  I am through with AT&T (cable, internet, cell).  I am switching companies for my TV as well as my internet.  I'm kind of glad actually, because I discovered that am now going TO SAVE OVER $150.00 per month for better service!!!!!!

Wow. I mean, wow! Thanks preacher35 for this "inside" information. I would ask you what service you are switching to, but I suspect you can't mention competing company names in a forum.  I will start looking seriously at those competitors. Although, since it is one corporate goliath vs. another, we're all screwed. I recently tried one of the new so-called "a la carte" tv apps in Roku, but the constant buffering made it unbearable to watch.  Did I mention that we're all screwed?

While we cannot completely discount any rumors about the future of Uverse, please bear in mind that most of the time that information is coming from DirecTV reps and sometimes even Dish or competing cable companies.

The chatter of AT&T abandoning Uverse has been going on for YEARS.  Will this information eventually be accurate?  Maybe but I'm not jumping ship until someone pushes me off the boat.

Thank you. Yes I now realize that Direct TV is behind this all. I live in a condo and we are not allowed to have any dish type object on building. And I support their decision completely. I guess I will also be looking for a new provider. Thank you.

I agree with other people in saying that the information "passed along" by the DirectTV rep was just a salesman trying to make a sale. I think that if we REALLY want to have AT&T hear the voices of their unhappy customers then we should write/email/call our respective congressmen and tell them that we OPPOSE the pending AT&T / Time Warner merger. The Department of Justice is currently suing to block AT&T's $85.4 BILLION  (yes, BILLION) bid to acquire Time Warner. That's all we need, a large monopoly that doesn't care about its own customer base having control over HBO, Warner Bros, and other major franchises which would then have an affect on people using other cable and satellite companies.

I will never go to directTV, did that once and I will never switch to that.  My uverse for the most part is ok, but if they continue to take away services or neglect the overall service I have other non-ATT choices available that are much better than an ugly dish!  I think ATT better start to notice this because when they loose their uverse customers it will hit the bottom line big-time.  Especially when you take those of us who travel and want access to our cable on the go on more than a mobile phone.  I am currently on vacation with TV's that mirror, roku etc.  Who is offering the ability to port the cable to a smart TV ... Spectrum.  That is who ATT will loose to if they don't wake up.  I know switching has crossed my mind just for that not even counting I know I could save money!
