Signing into TV Network apps

Yesterday I was attempting to get access to WatchESPN. I found it odd that when I selected AT&T as the provider, someone else's username was pre-populated. I was initially doing this on my phone. I had difficulty logging into AT&T to verify that I have ESPN. This was partly because I have to keep track of two different user accounts and passwords (one for u-verse service and the other for mobile service; there's then a third if I consider the forum account). At some point, the TV provider sign-in recognized my account.

I'm just wondering how someone else's user account name auto populated on the phone? I'm the only person with AT&T service at my home.

Are you using some form of family sharing for the apps in your library?

The att authentication challenge screen shouldn't cache any credentials.

I wasn't using any family sharing with the apps. The only credentials that would have been cached would have been those from my previous TV provider, and that worked as it should in that I opened the app (WatchESPN in this case) and was about to watch a video when it took me to the provider selection page since my account with my previous TV provider is no longer active. As soon as I selected AT&T, someone else's username came up. Obviously I hit 'this isn't me' so that I could login.

It's working fine now, but I just found it odd that someone else's username came up when I selected AT&T.

Sorry, but that's just creepy.

I am glad to hear that this is working at this time. As for the log in information already being populated this is based on a cookie or stored information on the device itself. If auto populated it would to have already been entered into the log in section before. If you have any other issues or questions please let us know.

If the login showing is based on a cookie placed on the device, then this would be very interesting.

I got what I thought was a new from the factory phone when I switched to AT&T. I saw the phone being taken out of the box, the factory screen protector being removed, and I went through the initial setup. I had cookies set on my old phone to get to WatchESPN, but I did a factory reset before handing it over. That could only mean that perhaps my phone wasn't new and the stored credentials had not been cleared out.
