On the Go Interactive feature for my uverse tv, some apps say “counts towards internet data allowance”, I guess I’m just dumb, what is the “internet data allowance”, and if I launch those apps, does it charge me extra?

I completely understand your concern with matter. I am pleased to check into this for you!
Since you are using an app, it will use data however you will have a data allowance so you will not be charged extra unless you go over your data allowance. I can check on this if you like.
