Was promised $400 reward card, only received $100

I'm having a hard time finding anything online, and cannot get anyone on online chat or on the phone to help me resolve this issue.  I ordered my service in March 2019, activated on 04/26/2019 and was told that upon activation, I would get a $400 reward card.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hello there @JMF1963,

We understand this must be a frustrating circumstance. Because the normal Customer Service teams do not have the tools needed to assist with reward card issues, we recommend you contact the AT&T Reward Center for additional support.

If you have any other questions related to your AT&T services, we'll be more than happy to help!

I have had the same experience.  I was called by an AT&T solicitor and asked about switching to a fast internet service and that they had this great promotion if I signed up for the bundle.  Told I would be receiving the $400 visa card within 8 to 12 weeks, it's been several months ago now and when I called the rewards center I was told that $400 promotion had now expired.  How can it expire if I never received it?

Thinking that I would need to call in again I was pleased to see a piece of mail stating "it's time to claim your AT&T Visa Reward Card" and so I went online to claim the reward and it tells me that the reward is $100.  Unacceptable!  Please tell me what I need to do in order to get the $400 that was offered to me?  I would not have switched services from Spectrum over to At&t/Uverse if I was not going to be receiving the reward promised.  After reading comments on these forums I'm wondering if I should go to the State Attorney General and make a report for fraud.  Seems like this is a fairly common problem with signing up for your services.  Please advise as soon as possible.  Thank you!

The problem is that the Reward Center can offer me no resolution.  I can only imagine I need to call back in to the Sales group that made the offer to me, as no one can confirm that I ever had a conversation where $400 was discussed.  When I first called in to switch, I qualified for $300 and then the sales rep said he could get me another $100.  I didn't ask for it, but having spent so much money with ATT over the years, I was happy to be rewarded a total of $400 back on my Internet & U-Verse setup.  Wondering is there a "customer retention" department?  20+ years with the wireless service, and now internet & U-verse - I pay these folks more than my car payment every month.  You would think they could follow through on a $400 reward card.  More info from anyone would be appreciated.

Something very similar happened to me as well. It was an online only promotion that came with a $400 VISA gift card and bundled TV and Internet with 3 months free of HBO and Cinemax. This promotion was for a 1 year commitment. As I was trying to get the best deal, I called in as well and they couldn’t match that offer, so I moved forward with the online promotion and was informed that it would take a couple of months to receive the gift card in the mail. This was also for a residential move in which we kept AT&T... It never came. I called in about it and they had no records of having any kind of gift card promotion attached to the account. After speaking with customer service and the rewards department, they offered a $250 gift card. Although that was a nice gesture, it wasn’t what was promised. I asked them to review the recorded calls that I had with them. That didn’t occur. So I asked them to check to see if this promotion was available during February of 2019, which is when I viewed and activated this offer. They stated that they couldn’t do anything more than the $250. I asked them to keep the gift card and that I would cancel the account. They then transferred me to the loyalty department. I explained to them the situation. I ran him through the same exercise and requested that he check to see what promotions they had since there was apparently no record of it. He was able to confirm that they had a $400 gift card promotion at the time that I booked, however, stated that it was only for a move. Meaning I had to already be an existing account. I informed him that I was; that the old account was under my wife and we were moving into another location together. He confirmed the old account from the prior address, and saw the notes of my call from her account which noted that I would not be moving forward with their phone offer, but would complete the offer online. He then stated that I was already getting such a great deal that it would be impossible for them to “stack” these deals together so he couldn’t honor it. Absolutely rubbish. I wasted several hours on this. I cancelled the account. It’s unfortunate that they pulled this bait and switch tactic... seems like this didn’t occur to just me

I was also offered $400 by AT&T for new internet and cable service after a move in July. I received $200. When I called in November about remaining reward, they said it was too late to receive reward. Irritating, but not real worried about it. The service is not great, so I will not continue after the required year. Unlike AT&T, Google fiber has great reviews online and in the neighborhood!
