RE: Android Version 9 - Samsung S8+ No Audio

I upgraded my S8+ to the newest version and realized my audio notifications or vibrations were no longer functioning for incoming calls, SMS messages, and for generic notifications from other apps. Even the the custom sound notification from certain applications aren't audible.

After the update was completed, my applications also required updates so I let those run too.

After the applications updated, I restarted my phone and had my wife text me. No audio notification or vibration. Verified Notification sound was turned up and toggled to another notification within Settings > Sounds and Vibrations > Notification sounds. Still no audio when I receive SMS Messages or other notifications from other apps.

Within the Sounds and vibration setting, I set Sound Mode from vibration to Sound. Still no audio.

I am currently in the midst of doing a back up and am about to fully reset my phone.

Has anyone else reported this issue? Any fixes or recommendations?

Let's look into that for you, @Maverick1010!

First, go to Settings Lock Screen > Security > Notifications to verify Lock Screen Notification isn't blocked. Simply click Allow to enable sound. Another step you can take is to make sure that your device's ability to receive notifications isn't blocked. You'll want to navigate to Settings > Application > Application Manager > then locate Messages and change to Allow if blocked.

We hope this info helps.

After update by ATT my Samsung Galaxy 8s+ no longer makes a sound when I say "Ok Google". I've tried all of the fixes I've found on web but still no sound. However, my phone vibrates. I want the sound back. I wish your updates didn't mess up my settings every time!
