Usb configuration
Unable to connect samsung galaxy note 5 to pc. Phone isn't showing the options to change from charger to mtp. I have developers options on and usb debugging on but it hadn't changed anything

Have you restarted (the phone, mosty) to see if that makes a difference. Unfortunately a good deal of these devices dont' always (depending on state) send the correct interrupt to make sure you see a USB message.
Often, a restart or a USB disconnect/connect will do it though, enough to get the pipeline moving.
