Samsung Galaxy S7 edge no Nougat update yet

As the title says...I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and have not yet received the Android 7.0 Nougat update. Are they still rolling out and I should get It soon ? Based on reading lots of forums and AT&T device support the new OS was released Feb 17 2017 just wondering why I ahvent received it. And what can I do to receive it.

Thanks !

Hello @BlueS7edge,

I completely understand wanting the newest features for your phone! Having the latest enhancements is certainly important! We definitely would want to ensure your phone is ready to receive the Nougat update.

When you head to Settings > System > About device > Software update > Check for updates, it should provide any earlier patches which may be needed. If you have any concerns about your current software which may be delaying your next update, you can factory reset with the guides on our Device Support page. This can be found under Tutorials > Troubleshooting > Reset device.

Most Best Buy locations also have a Samsung Experience desk which can ensure you have the most recent update they have available. I will also be sending you a private message in order to ensure we get this taken care of, and if need be investigated further.

I hope this information helps! Have a great rest of your day!

I too have yet to receive the Nougat update for my S7 Edge.  I've tried the update from the phone every day since I heard of the release (Feb 17th or so) and figured it would eventually arrive but alas no update.  Very disappointed.  I'm going to try to get to my local Best Buy tomorrow to see if the Samsung people can update it.  Sure don't want to have to reset the phone to factory default.

I have been on Android version 6.0.1 since I received my phone 13 months ago, this is unacceptable to have no updates in this amount of time...

my guess is you have a IMEI miss match on your ATT account or are not using the phone on ATT with ATT as your service provider.  Take the phone to a samsung experience center inside a best buy and they can flash the update free of charge for you.

Same here. Security patch is from Feb 2016 yet. Store employee said my best bet was a new S8. I walked out very disappointed.

Hello @CJWLDW,

I regret to hear you have not received the Nougat update for you S7 Edge. I wouldn’t want you to feel like you are forced to update just to receive an update your device should be ready for.

Clearing the Cache Partition on your phone will help clear out anything which may be affecting the update from being sent to your device. To do this, you will power off the phone and Press and hold the Volume Up key, Home key, and Power key at the same time. When the phone powers on, the Android System Recovery screen appears, please let go of the keys. From here you will use the volume keys to move to Wipe Cache Partition. Select Yes, and then choose Reboot System now. Once completed, try searching for the update once more.

I definitely recommend checking out one of Samsung’s Experience centers if you are still not receiving the update. This way they can ensure all the needed software is on the device and ready for the Nougat update.

Let me know if this helps!

Hello,

Best Buy Samsung Experience Stores not keeping all the update. I went last month and they don't have the update for all models. They have only for US Version models.

Thanks,

Hello,

I went last month to Best Buy Samsung Experience Stores and they do not have update for my phone (SM-G930F).They keep update only for US Version models.

AT&T too doesn't have Nougat update for this model.

Samsung Says they can't push through SmartSwitch as only Carrier(AT&T) needs to push the update.

This will be my last phone with Samsung. Will definitely go for Google.

Thanks,

Praveen

if you have a 930F goto sammobile and get the firmware you need for it.
