Switching to third party Nokia 2.2

Can I buy a Nokia 2.2 on Amazon to replace the phone I'm currently using? Is it just a matter of moving my sim card to the new phone?

Sure thing @yogayamie

The self support article's name is "Swap active SIM cards between devices". If, for some odd reason this link fails again, you can simply search online using article number "KM1001034" and it will pop right up.

Here's some additional information about active SIM swaps. When you place the active SIM in the new Nokia you may receive a PUK lock message. For security active SIMs use this feature. If it occurs, check out "Enter PUK Code" or "KM1011771" for help obtaining the PIN to unlock the SIM.

We hope this is helpful information. Swap out your SIM, then post back once your done to confirm success, okay?

Hey there @yogayarnie!

We can help with that. You will need to obtain the device's IMEI to verify whether it's compatible on our network.

Follow these instructions to activate any compatible devices on an active AT&T PREPAID account.

Also, not only is it important to make sure both devices use the same size SIM card, but there are specific steps required for exchanging your device.

We hope this info helps.

Thanks! They do take the same size sim card, and I did check for network
compatibility. the last link in your reply doesn't open for me, regarding
specific step to exchange my device. Can you repost?

@yogayarnie

These are the specs for the Nokia 2.2.

https://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_2_2-9731.php

It WILL NOT work in the USA.  It has incompatible LTE bands and only 1 3g band.

Just because a SIM card fits, doesn’t mean it will work.

PLEASE CHECK SPECS against At&t required bands.

If you want an unlocked phone that works in the USA, buy one made for the USA.  Best Buy has a dozen unlocked phones that will work, please show there.

Worked like a charm! Updated my device on my prepaid account by putting in the IMEI number, swapped out the SIM card, and I'm good to go. I confirmed that calls and texts work with no issue. Thanks everyone!
