Low volume after phone upgrade

My zte zmax2 just went through a software update, now when I put my headphones on to listen to music, the volume is extremely low. It used to sound so good, now I can barely hear my.music. the Dolby digital does little to enhance the sound. Does anyone else have this problem? I've read alot of people are having this issue. Anyone know how to fix it? I've already cleared my cache on startup like someone suggested but still nothing. I don't want to do a factory reset unless I know it will work. Help please

Greetings @Jfnoy34,

Thanks for reaching out! I know how important it is to be able to use your phone to the most of its abilities. I can certainly help you with some options to resolve this problem.

Since you are still experiencing issues with the sound after clearing your cache, I recommend placing your device in safe mode. To do this, please follow these steps.

1. Press and hold Power.
2. Wait for the Power-off menu to appear.
3. Press and hold Power off until a prompt appears to reboot in Safe Mode.
4. A prompt appears asking if you want to reboot into Safe Mode. Tap OK or Restart. The device reboots in Safe Mode.

While in Safe Mode, you will want to see if you are experiencing the same issues. If you find the sound issue continues, you’ll want to proceed to the next step and perform a factory reset. Please make sure to complete a backup of your information to ensure you don’t lose anything important. Our Device Support page can walk you through different methods to back up your phone. When you reach the page, please select the ZTE ZMAX 2 > Tutorials > Backup & restore.

Once you have completed the backup, please proceed with the factory reset. The steps can be found on the Device Support page > Tutorials > Troubleshooting > Reset Device.

Thank you for allowing me to assist you today! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any other issues.
