Best Buy - at&t communication issue

I purchased a galaxy S7 for my wife at Best Buy for Christmas. She liked her old HTC phone so I returned the phone to Best Buy.  For some reason, even though I have a receipt, at&t doesn't show me returning the phone, and Best Buy can't seem to figure out how to convince them, despite me having the receipt. Not sure what to do. Att is charging me monthly for the phone I returned.

I absolutely love my HTC phone, so I can completely agree with your wife!  Getting the phone registered as returned is definitely something we want to get taken care of as soon as possible.  It would be my pleasure to assist.

 

One of the best ways to get the return fully recorded is to bring your receipt into one of our local ATT Company Retail locations.  You can have the agents in the store enter the return date, and take care of the installment plan.  They can also add a notation to the account for future knowledge.

 

Our store locator is a fantastic tool to find one near you.  You will just need to enter your zip-code and the results will show.  You can also make an appointment from the same page.

I tried that. Didn't work. Best Buy is blaming AT&T and At&T is blaming Best Buy. Meanwhile I'm paying for a phone that I don't have.
