unlock AT&T phone

Why did you buy a phone locked to a provider when you had no intention of using it on the network that it is made for? Unlocked phones will not update the operating system because it has to be on the designed network to get the update.

It would have be easier to buy an unlocked one from the beginning.

For the IMEI not found, you can try by private messaging @ATTMobilityCare. they may be able to get you to a department that can help.

its a rarely met phone:  Nec Terrain. I can not buy it in Europe.  bought at ebay hoping to unlock easily threw att unlock site.  but this site fails:  IMEI not found.  AT&T recommends to contact manufacturer. Thanks for the link, I will try to reach responsible person.
