Unlock Codes?

Was reading a few posts on here about other users using UNLOCK CODES.

I'm confused and could someone explain:

     1. What is an Unlock Code?

     2. What does "unlocking the phone" actually DO??

     3. By Unlocking, can you access more features on your phone?

     4. How do I get an Unlock Code for MY SHINE???

Thanks in advance!

An unlock code will unlock the phone so that any providers sim card can be used with it. When doing so sometimes not all the features on your phone will work on other carriers.
Using an ATT phone with ATT service there is really no reason to unlock the phone.
If you feel you must unlock your phone  you can contact ATT customer care. You will need to provide them with the reason why you want to unlock it, the IMEI and make model of the phone.
Not all phones can be unlocked.

MommaLlama,

Ok, thanks for the info....was just curious. You answered my questions and I really don't have any reason to unlock mine. Thought maybe I was missing out on something, that's all.
