Cell Phone Use in Office Building
Recent AT&T member here with a question for the community. What options are there to boost reception within an office building? Has anyone used one of those as-seen-on-tv razor blade looking reception thingies? Do they work?
When I stand by the window I can make calls, send & receive text messages fine, but not at my desk about 40 feet from the window. Work will not let me install a microcell on the network for security purposes. Has anyone have a solution that worked for them?

Hello @MrGecko
Thank you so much for reaching out today on AT&T Community Forums! I will be so happy to help you today. I do apologize that your service is not great when you are away from the window. That has to be super frustrating!
The Signal boosters that we offer (The Microcell) does work wonders, however I am so sorry that your work will not let you install one. Totally understandable though!
I have not personally used the As-Seen-on-TV razor blade thingy, so I can’t tell you for sure if they work or not. However, I would definitely recommend reading customer reviews for the product. These types of things will depend on a lot of different factors, so customer reviews are the best indication of whether the product will fit your needs.
I noticed that the product is sold on Amazon and a few other big companies, so I would take a look at them there!
The best solution for your current situation would be to download an app that we offer called “Mark the Spot”. This will allow you to Mark the spot of the area you are not receiving great service in, and it will be sent directly over to our network team! This allows them to see what areas are not receiving signal, and look into a way to get that resolved.
Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thank you for being the best part of AT&T and I truly hope that you have a fantastic day! Good luck!

@MrGecko
Almost likely Wifi calling is your only option. If your building has Wifi and you can connect to it.
An M-cell is not an option as it must be physically connected to a modem or router and sit next to a window.
Its a fact of life that buildings block signal.

There you go then.
Never heard of the Razer antenna thingy. I suspect it won’t work. Link?
