Cannot log into account
I purchased a game camera last year and bought an AT&T sims card so I could activate it and start receiving pictures. I was told my password would be the last 4 digits of the number although that never worked. After activated over the phone I was told a new password would be sent to that number. I tried to explain that it was a game camera and not a phone and I was met with confusion...not once but with every person I spoke with. I gave up as it was on auto pay and I didnt need to log in anyway. Fast forward to today when I realized the card it was being billed to expired so I had to go through all of this again. One guy even said he has never heard of a camera that has a sims card in it. I said AT&T actually offers plans for such cameras as a package deal and he said not that he was aware of ..... really ! I have now purchased a 2nd camera and will be buying another sims card to put in this one and didnt want to pay for 2 pre-paid plans. I was wanting to maybe put both under one regular plan but there is one catch. I still cannot log in and do anything because I dont have a password. How can this be resolved and when will AT&T educate their own people about the different services they offer?

Good afternoon @scoutie99,
Thank you for reaching out regarding your difficulties accessing your prepaid account. You definitely have come to the right place!
Resetting your password for a prepaid account is normally a quick process, it only requires you to visit the login portal and then selecting “Forgot Password?”. However this method involves receiving a text message with a temporary pin, and since you are not using the SIM card with a cellphone, the only way to successfully change it would be by visiting one of our stores with a valid form of ID.
I apologize we didn’t recognize the camera device before; most of this items are compatible with our service but not necessarily sold or supported by us. If you are considering a postpaid plan, I would suggest you first check the manufacturer’s specifications, because in most cases they require a prepaid plan to work.
We still offer prepaid plans with a $5 saving in the form of the Multi-Line Discount, which is something to consider if prepaid is your only option.
I hope this answers your questions, and if you require more assistance with your account, please let us know and we will be happy to help.
Sincerely,
Rafael, AT&T Community Specialist

Hello again @scoutie99,
I’m glad to hear you found an ideal plan to suit your needs, and that manages to save you some money on the long run! I would suggest getting a new SIM as well, it would be simpler to setup and also required for starting a session based account. I have included another article here with all the information you would need to setup and pick a session based plan.
Again I apologize for not being able to help you find a plan in the past, but I hope that going forward you will be satisfied with the options we offer. Have a fantastic day!

I did review the buyasession and I have a question. Its says to purchase a sims card from AT&T for my device but it doesn't say which kind. Do I purchase another 30 dollar prepaid sims card and then use that to buyasession?

Hi @scoutie99
You are correct, you will need an AT&T Prepaid SIM, but they cost $5 at one of our direct stores. When you search for them, please make sure they are not an authorized retailers, as they charge more for them. Alternatively, you can purchase an AT&T Prepaid SIM Kit online for $0.99.
Best of luck!
