Can i take my GoPhone phone number and take it to another carrier

I recently purchased my go phone through AT&T but I want to take my phone number with me to my normal carrier because it's cheaper for my family and me is this possible

Thank you for joining our Community Forums! I will be more than happy to help answer your question!

You can unlock your AT&T phone to take to your normal carrier. In order to do this, you do have to meet all the device unlock requirements. One of them is you do have to have your phone active for 6 months of paid service in order to unlock. This can be all be done through our Device Unlock portal. If you haven’t activated the phone yet, you can submit a request without having to wait the six months.
