International texting from US to Australia
Hi,
I'm in the States on Holiday, salesman at AT&T advised to get the $85 Prepaid Plan, which was Unlimited (but I realised later it only has 22GB unlimited at regular speed which he failed to mention of course, so my trust with AT&T has gone).
I cannot seem to be able to send Messages to Australia, I've tried every combination, not sure what the issue is.
The messages send but nothing arrives back home!?!
This has been happening for two days, kind of useless if I can't message back home!!
Should have went with Verizon or T-Mobile.

I am sorry you are having issues texting back home. I am pleased to check into this for you!
I completely understand how important it is to be able to text Australia with your pre paid plan. I did some looking into this issue and found, while our post pay phones have free unlimited international texting, our pre pay phones are able to text Canada and Mexico. I apologize for any inconvenience.

@ATTCares, please recheck that. According to https://www.att.com/prepaid/plans.html, “Unlimited messaging to Mexico, Canada, and over 100 countries included on monthly and daily plans.” I don’t know if Australia is one of those 100 countries because the list won’t pop up for me but I suspect it is. Regardless, prepaid can definitely text to more than just Canada and Mexico.
