Data Usage on DirectTV

I was using direct tv on my phone and it was using data when it was supposed to be data free.

@LaneS14  This is an article for streaming Directv and data usage. Streaming Directv is data free but if you have Mobile Share Advantage plan and go over your data using the data for other items (Netflix) your data for Directv will be slowed as with all data.

1.  You have to have a postpaid plan for data free TV.

2.    You must be using the Direct TV, Uverse or DirecTV NOW app.

3.    Data is always counted on your phone and you will see it in settings.  But it is not deducted from your allowance.

Why do you think your phone is using data? If it is because the phone itself shows Directv using data, your phone does not know data is free, it records all data usage. On your account usage page, you will see "sponsored data". That is the Directv data and does not count against your plan.
