iPhone 5 Battery Issues

my iPhone 5 goes from 100% to 40% then shuts off. Can the battery be replaced?

The battery can be replaced. Just make sure you know what you are doing when you pull the screen up without damaging the phone.

You are better off taking it to an Apple Genius Bar rather than trying to do it yourself. Also, it might be free as I think there was a battery replacement program for some iPhone 5's.
