I used the voice prompts instead. Go to your phone and press 1, your voice
mail will dial. Follow the prompts given to change your greeting. It worked!

I still cannot change to custom voicemail the other way, but this solved my
problem.

Hi Edna,

You can call your voice mail, and enter all changes you need to make by
following the voice prompts. Good luck! It worked for me.

I received this error when I subscribed to Robokiller app.  My personal greeting had been removed and was set to default with no ability to change.  Robokiller walked me through these steps and walahh!

To make sure your AT&T device is deactivated, please dial these deactivation codes separately and including the # symbols where notated:

##61#
##62#
##67#
##004#

After dialing each code, there will be messages displaying "suceeded".  Dismiss the message and dial the next code.  May take a few minutes to reset.

You will need to call these three codes on both of your AT&T devices

Once this is done, you should be all set with having your personal greeting active again
