Streaming audio jumps channels on iPhone 5

Hello hive mind,

I think I asked this a long time ago but didn't get any answers, so I'll try it again.

When listening to streaming audio, there are occasions where, for no apparent reason, it suddenly jumps to another channel. I'm listening to classic rock (for example) and suddenly I now have today's hits (for example.)    This often happens when it pauses to buffer, but sometimes it just does it for the thrill of itSmiley Sad. This has happened on 3 different streaming services, so I know the service isn't the problem.   I once had the phone reset back to default settings; that did help for a few months, but it slowly crept back again.  It's a 4 year old iPhone 5, but it's been doing it for the 3 years I've had streaming apps, so I don't think age is the problem either.

Ideas?

Hello @MemoryBank

Thank you for reaching out to us on the Community Forums! Having your audio randomly jump channels/stations is quite odd. I will be glad to assist you with this!

Since this is happening on different streaming services, the issue may be device related. If resetting it back to factory settings helped for a while, and the issue came back, I would recommend resetting the phone again.

If the issue keeps returning, it could be an internal software issue. Since a reset is the last troubleshooting step you can do, reaching out to Apple Support may be the next best option.

I hope this issue gets taken care of. Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns! Have a great weekend.
