Phone blocked by operator can't be used HELP

Hello to all,

A few months back i was in NY and bought an Iphone at an AT&T store in park slope. The manager told me i could use the phone in France (since i was there for a study year abroad) and that he unblocked it.

When i got to france, the phone would not accept any other sim card then an AT&T so i contacted the operator and it stated that i had to have a fixed plan for at least 6months before unblocking it, but i had a prepaid one. Hence they will not unblock my phone that cost me a lot of money... I don't know what to do. If someone has an idea to unblock the phone from AT&T i'll be listening... thank you

Best regards,

renee

Good Afternoon @reneeserda,

We understand how beneficial it is to have a device unlocked! It is important we set the right expectations during any transactions are made. We would like to apologize for the misleading information you were provided during time of purchase. I would love to provide more insight on this matter.

The best course of action for a device to be unlocked would be make sure requirements are met. Our Device unlock portal offers a great article which provides additional information on eligibility requirements to make the process a seamless and easy experience.

I hope the information provided is helpful. I wish you an amazing rest of your day!
