why do i lose cell & data service when i lose house power

i would like to know why our android and iphones lose cell and data service when we lose power in our house. i can understand why we lose wifi since there is no power to the router, but why our cell and data? is there a setting to avoid this?

Losing power should not effect your cellular signal. I'm guessing you have a poor signal in your house and rely on wifi calling, so when wifi drops, so does your service.

Don't know what to tell you. Power in your house has nothing to do with your cellular signal. If you have signal when power is on, you should have signal when power is off unless the power outage is also knocking the cell tower off line too.

thanks ace, i agree with you, im stumped as to why this happens., but you mentioned the cell tower could be impacted and i do know we're within a mile from it so that makes sense. thanks.
