Welcome to the Community Forums! I can understand wanting to know why the notification alerts happen. I want to know what is going on with my device as well. I am happy to help with this today!
Here is a great page on the sounds and alerts for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active. This has a lot of information on notification alerts.
Another great resource is the Troubleshoot & Resolve page. For best results press the Log in button. After logging into your myAT&T account and selecting your device, click Audio to start the process of fixing the notifications on the phone.
