LG-Phoenix-help

i have an error message on the home screen of the phone. "Problem loading Widget".  and i have also aquired a folder with a few phone numbers that i saved to my sim card.  How do i remove these from the home screen?  i tried to reset with removing the battery, and also turning off the device, but the messages are still there.  is this a "blip" in this phone where i can not delete something on the home screen, i can only add something???Please help???
