Group text fails on new phone

New Samsung Active obtained 1 week ago.

1) When I respond to a group text, half the recipients get a "Touch to download MMS message" and their download fails. One person is actually able to see my message. She is on an iphone but the other iphone users cannot see my messages.

2) I don't receive all of their group messages. I've been sent screenshots of conversations that I started the previous day, but the newest messages from others in the past 20 minutes have not reached my phone.  (Messages sent 30 minutes ago did reach me.  What changed?)

Is something not configured correctly on my phone or my services, or do I need to go back to the store for a third phone (a first attempt at switching to a new phone failed to configure fully at the store and we had to start over with another device.)

Good morning @TextingFail,

I’ve been in a similar situation before with group text messages, so I understand how difficult it can be when diagnosing issues such as this. The awesome thing is you came to the right place to get this resolved! I’d be delighted to help!

If you’re having trouble with receiving iPhone messages, Advanced Messaging could be the root of it. It is a new feature for Android devices, and it can affect an iPhone user’s ability to receive your messages, and vice versa. You can disable this feature on your Samsung phone. Just visit the Messages inbox > More > Settings > Advanced Messaging and uncheck Use Advanced Messaging. Just restart your phone and try again.

You, and everyone included in the group message, can also delete the entire thread and start with a fresh one. Ensure the iPhone users have Send as SMS enabled as well.

I hope these suggestions help out! Have a good one!
