Hello @Nightflyer64!

Thank you for reaching out to us on the AT&T Community Forum! I would love to assist with this issue!

In order to recover an item which is required for software purposes, you will need to complete a Factory Reset. As this will erase any information you have on this phone, you will also need to get the information backed up beforehand. You can see how to accomplish these steps by visiting our handy Device Support page, and selecting the correct make/model of your device from the dropdown box on this page.

Hello @amixt30 and @LYLEBIVENS!

I am sorry to hear you are also experiencing these issues, and would love to help!

I recommend putting this phone in Safe Mode, to determine if a third party application is causing this issue. You can accomplish this by

  • Pressing and holding the Power button
  • Wait for the Power Off menu to appear
  • Press and hold Power Off until a prompt appears to reboot to Safe Mode
  • Tap either Ok or Restart

Then, please use the device how you normally would. If the phone seems to be working correctly with Safe Mode enabled, the issue is more than likely with a third party application.  Please uninstall any application which you believe may be causing this issue.

I hope this information helps!

Hello again @Nightflyer64!

I’m sorry I was unable to determine you had already completed a Factory Reset from your earlier post. May I inquire as to what specifically was deleted from this phone to cause this issue? With this information, we will be able to continue resolving the problem for you.

I look forward to hearing from you again!

I saw an app in the app list called 'find my phone' which I hadn't installed and I didn't want. It wasn't in the remove apps list but when moving it to the home screen I got the option to uninstall which I did without realizing it was actually part of 'Google Play Services' which means even when restoring the rom with a factory reset I get the same errors. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't deleting part of google play services root behaviour without having root?

Hello again @Nightflyer64!

Thank you so much for this information!

It looks like you will need to get the software re-flashed for this device. AT&T does not have the tools necessary to accomplish this, but you can contact the manufacturer of the phone to do this. You can reach Alcatel at 1.855.368.0829, and they can provide the steps necessary to correct the issue with your phone.

I hope this information helps!

google play services can be removed.

Just download the google play services from here

http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-services/

then install it.
