90 day expiration

The AT&T refill cards I've seen on the shelf say "90 day expiration" for $35 and $45 cards. The AT&T web page for the prepaid plans lists only "monthly" charges of $35, $45 and $60. I have also read complaints from other users that their phone indicated only 30 days of service after refilling with 90 day card. Why do plans on the website list only monthly rates and the refill cards for the same price say they're good for 90 days?

The 90 day expiration date refers to how long you have to use that money to pay for service. In other words, when you buy a $45 card, once you add the money to your account, you have 90 days to spend it on a plan. The length of the plan is not the same as the expiration date for the card. If you buy a 30 day plan, the plan expires in 30 days. If you had the $0.25/minute plan, that $45 would last for 90 days or until all used up paying for minutes.

If you are adding a smartphone and want a pay per use plan, you have to activate service by choosing a monthly plan.  Before you finish you can select one of the pay per use options
