WIFI Range Extender for 2Wire 3801HGV Router/Modem
WIFI Range Extender for 2Wire 3801HGV Router/Modem
I have a AT&T 3801HGV Router/Modem and yesterday upgraded my Garage Door Power units to ones which are WIFI compatible and in trying to set them up it appears I don't have a strong enough signal in the garage. So, the installer yesterday mentioned me getting a WIFI range extender, but don't know which brand or model would be compatible. He also suggested that perhaps a newer AT&T router/modems would have more power, and if so I could avoid having to figure out which range extender to get.
So my questions are these:
1. Does AT&T have newer, more powerful router/modems?
2. If so, how do I get one to replace the 3801HGV?
3. If not, can someone suggest a WIFI range extender compatible with 3801HGV?
Thanks in advance for any help I can get!

Hi @Al370Z,
Expand your home Wi-Fi coverage and reduce signal weak spots and dead zones. The AT&T Smart Wi-Fi Extender utilizes state-of-the-art mesh technology to expand your home Wi-Fi and cover locations with a weak Wi-Fi signal. Adding a Smart Extender to your AT&T Wi-Fi network will increase your coverage by up to 1,000 sq. ft. and helps to reduce network congestion.
Thank you for reaching out to AT&T's Community and Forums Team.

So, based on what I've read in this thread, it appears there's no way to simply connect a 3801HGV router/modem to a currently available mesh wifi system, regardless if it's an ATT solution (Airtie) or 3rd party. Is that correct?
