Outlook 2016 failing to sync with ATT server (server re-routing issue)
I need someone's help correcting an issue I'm having sending and receiving mail through Outlook 2016. This problem occurred when my email account was re-routed by ATT to a Yahoo server. Problem started yesterday (7/22/18) and this is not the first time this has happened.
The problem starts with ATT. For some unknown reason that has never been explained to me, my ATT email re-routes to a Yahoo server, so I'm not able to sign and retrieve my email from the ATT.NET website, and my Outlook won't sync w/ my ATT account. In the past, I've had to contact ATT and get them to fix the problem (route my email back to the ATT server.) When this has been fixed, I've been able to retrieve my email from ATT.NET and my Outlook has re-synced with my mail account (and will correctly send/receive mail using my ATT email account).
Yesterday, the same thing happens again. I contact ATT to route my account away from Yahoo back to the ATT server. That gets done and I can now retrieve my emails from ATT.NET. However, Outlook is not syncing with ATT's server, so I cannot send or receive emails through Outlook. I was told yesterday by technical support that the problem might be with Microsoft. I'm no techie, but this is obviously wrong - the problem is with ATT. So, to the ATT tech person who reviews this, please check the settings on your end and correct this problem as soon as possible. Note that the error message I'm getting from Outlook is that it is failing to connect with ATT's server. Please just fix this. I don't want to spend another hour talking to someone in customer support.

Hello @GIACOMO51,
Thank you for reaching back out! For incoming server settings this should be set as:
Server - https://soc.att.com/2LKynrr. com
Port - 993
Requires SSL - Yes
To learn more about these settings you can read this great Email Troubleshooting support article. We hope this helps!
