High latency and packet loss

Any ideas on how to get AT&T to resolve high packet loss and latency?

It is so bad that we cannot stream Sling without multiple interruptions.

Reboot of modem doesn't resolve problem.

I am doing ping tests to 108.216.74.1 which is first hop from my location.

Usual response is that they do not see anything wrong.

Hi @bevanskansas,

  1. How are you measuring packet loss?
  2. Can you show us your results?
  3. Does this occur at any particular time?
  4. Are you connected to the gateway wirelessly or via Ethernet cable?
  5. Have you checked the connection statistics in your gateway (http://192.168.1.254/ , on the broadband tab, look for a table with sync rates, SNR, attenuation and error counts)?  Make a screenshot of those connection stats and post in a reply for us to look at.

I am running ping plotter from a wired computer into a gig layer 3 switch with no configuration currently and then into the modem.

I am pinging 108.216.74.1 which is the first hop.

I will try and get a copy of results for you.

I will also do a ping test to gateway and include that for you as soon as I can.

Hi, I have been experiencing a constant latency of 421-389 when i test my ping i have also noticed that there are some occasional packet losing. I am connected to an ethernet cable and there are only 2-3 devices that are really the only other ones on throughout the day.

I have tried resetting my router and modem non of which seem to have fixed the problem at all.
